Joint TU Clausthal and WiReGo startup service shows results

TU Clausthal and WiReGo have pooled their strengths in a joint startup service for a year – with success.

A year ago, TU Clausthal and WiReGo signed their cooperation agreement for a joint startup service. The goal was to combine the partners’ resources and expertise, increasing startup activity at the university and encouraging spin-offs through a stronger presence and a broader range of events. The results so far clearly show the cooperation is succeeding.

The startup advice team has seen a marked rise in consultations. Numerous founders sought the team’s support, and more than 25 projects received advice and guidance over the past year.

Visits to university institutes are a new addition. In direct conversations with professors, the team discusses self-employment and university spin-offs while presenting the joint startup service’s range of support. This is an important way to raise awareness of entrepreneurship among people who can spread the word.

New event formats have been introduced to encourage exchange and develop entrepreneurial skills. The Goslar Region Startup and Innovation Academy in particular has great potential to increase interest, competence and motivation among its target audience. Regional partners also meet in a newly established founders’ roundtable to exchange ideas and develop further initiatives.

This year’s TUniCorn was another sign of the startup service’s successful work. With 17 submissions, the university’s ideas competition set a record, reflecting in part the greater visibility created by the partners’ joint activities.

Save the date: the next TUniCorn awards will take place on 5 March 2026. Details of how to enter, including deadlines, will soon be published on the TU website.

TU Clausthal students and staff who want to start a company can receive active advice and support through the joint startup service. The team is based at the Startup Center on the TU campus.
