The new RegioInnoGrowth Niedersachsen program gives startups and growth-oriented medium-sized companies in Lower Saxony additional ways to strengthen their equity and safeguard liquidity. It closes an important gap in existing support for companies in the growth or succession phase. Up to €50 million is available for the program in total. NBank implements the federal program in Lower Saxony.
The funding is aimed at the companies described above in Lower Saxony with innovative business models, for example in technology, ecology, digitalization or social fields, that seek additional ways to strengthen their financing.
Companies cannot, however, apply directly to NBank for the funding. Instead, suitable funders accredited by NBank first receive the funds. These institutions, which may include private investors, then pass the funds to eligible companies through various financing forms, such as silent or direct equity investments. The advantage for investors: funding provided for investments, which can amount to up to 70% of the total financing volume, comes with a so-called liability exemption. This instrument substantially reduces the investor’s risk. Accordingly, RegioInnoGrowth Niedersachsen makes it easier for investors to back promising innovative companies. Young companies and medium-sized businesses benefit from easier access to capital.

An application can be submitted only after accreditation, which requires meeting certain criteria.
