First Startup Preschool Clausthal

Students of all nationalities explored self-employment and starting a business in depth at the end of November.

The first ‘Startup Preschool’ was held at TU Clausthal at the end of November to connect the local economy and startup scene more closely with international entrepreneurs. Since 2021, the German-Norwegian company Startup Migrants has trained more than 1,100 people across Europe through its proven Startup Preschool concept; participants have founded more than 80 companies.

The three-day workshop brought together 23 participants from different countries. On Friday afternoon, the focus was initially on the benefits diversity brings to companies and economic growth. Local founder Emil Alkountar spoke about his company and motivated the participants. They also pitched initial ideas and formed teams. Saturday was devoted to making their own ideas a reality. As the teams worked on their pitch decks, they developed answers to key questions about implementing their business ideas. On Sunday, they discussed administrative aspects of starting a business in Germany and received tips on successful networking. Finally, the groups pitched their ideas and the participants received their certificates.
