Founders who have passed a master craftsperson examination for their profession receive financial support from the state of Lower Saxony in the form of a bonus for successfully passing the examination.
The bonus for passing the master craftsperson examination under the German Crafts Code is €4,000. The examination certificate must have been issued between 1 July 2023 and 31 December 2026. Information is available from NBank under ‘Master craftsperson bonus for skilled trades’.
The bonus for passing the master examination as an industrial or specialist master craftsperson in commercial and technical fields or in agriculture, forestry and domestic management, including construction forepersons, is €1,000. The examination certificate must have been issued after 1 July 2024. Information is available from NBank under ‘Continuing education bonus’.
In both cases, applicants must have had their main residence or place of employment subject to social security contributions in Lower Saxony for at least six months at the time their master examination certificate was issued.
