Various funding programs offer attractive financing options for investments in business digitalisation. Even companies that are already well advanced digitally can use them to make further progress. KfW Group offers the subsidised “ERP Digitalisation and Innovation Loan No. 380”. This loan supports projects such as connecting resource planning systems and production equipment (Industry 4.0), and developing IT and data security plans to protect company data and defend against cyberattacks. Other eligible uses include digital platforms, apps, online sales channels and additive manufacturing processes such as 3D printing. Loans range from €25,000 to €25 million. Grants of 3% of the loan amount, up to a maximum of €200,000, may also be available. Businesses apply through their regular bank. Find out more at www.kfw.de.
Businesses can also access free digitalisation advice, for example from Zukunftszentrum Nord (www.zukunftszentrumnord.de) or Digitalagentur Niedersachsen (digitalagentur-niedersachsen.de).
Lower Saxony’s Digitalbonus.Niedersachsen-innovativ program supports small and medium-sized businesses investing in digital transformation. It provides one-off, non-repayable grants for hardware, software or software licences used to digitalise products, services or processes. Additional funding may be available for planned improvements to IT security. Investments must deliver significant digital progress for the business and have a high level of innovation.
