With the aim of connecting the local economy and startup scene more closely with international entrepreneurs, the ‘Startup Preschool’ was held for the second time at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld Startup Centre in late June. Since 2021, the German-Norwegian company Startup Migrants has trained more than 1,100 people across Europe through its proven ‘Sartup Preschool’ concept; participants have gone on to found more than 80 companies.
The three-day workshop brought together 30 participants from ten countries around the world. On Friday afternoon, the initial focus was on the opportunities that diversity offers companies and economic growth. Local founders Sara Sarvestani and Siddhant Rebello from TU Clausthal shared insights into their own startup project, which emerged from the first Startup PreSchool, and inspired the participants. Initial ideas were presented and teams formed for the project work. On Saturday, the teams worked intensively on implementing their own ideas. They created pitch decks in which they developed answers to key questions about putting their business ideas into practice. Sunday was devoted to practical topics such as the administrative steps involved in founding a company in Germany and tips for successful networking. Finally, the teams pitched their projects to the group and received their certificates of participation.
