Sustainable Advertising: founder Finn Dreyer focuses on lasting partnerships

Twenty-three-year-old Finn Dreyer wants to make a lasting contribution to the regional advertising industry. He plans to work on the business full-time after graduating.

He is just 23, studies web development in Berlin and has been putting his creativity to work in his company Sustainable Advertising since October 2022: Finn Dreyer, whose family runs the Dreyer Innenausbau craft business in Goslar, wants to make a lasting contribution to the regional advertising industry. Long-term thinking, reliability and work geared to clients’ needs come first for him.

‘It’s still a side business, but I’ve never viewed my company that way,’ the founder says of his current situation. Straight after finishing school, he opened his advertising agency Sustainable Advertising in Goslar to pursue creativity and freedom as an entrepreneur. The name of his company, meaning ‘Nachhaltige Werbung’ in German, emerged from a brainstorming session and underlines his aim to pursue sustainability in terms of resources, effectiveness and client relationships.

Adrian Reis (23) and other working students are also on board, handling various assignments on a mini-job basis. Web design, graphic design, photography, video and social media: the portfolio resembles that of other agencies. Adrian Reis has been friends with Finn Dreyer since first grade and is effectively his business and sparring partner as the company develops. He explains the difference: ‘We want to use our skills to benefit society.’ Projects with social relevance matter to them, and profit does not come first even in conventional client relationships. ‘If we thought that way, we’d certainly be somewhere else by now,’ Reis adds with a laugh. Consulting is another important area. Sustainable Advertising works according to clients’ needs and looks closely at which solutions are helpful and achieve their goals.

Finn Dreyer’s interest in programming was sparked by a collaboration between the Ratsgymnasium school and TU Clausthal. An introduction to computer science made his career choice clear. His family supported him in every decision. WiReGo’s startup modules and conversations with its advisers also helped. Finn Dreyer nevertheless started his business with the motto ‘Just do it’. That is also his recommendation to prospective founders: ‘Get started, see what works and develop your business based on your experiences. As a sole proprietor in particular, you’re very flexible and can adjust your direction at any time.’ Adrian Reis adds: ‘You also need to know your limits, keep an eye on your work-life balance and learn to say no.’

From summer 2026, after completing his studies, Finn Dreyer will run Sustainable Advertising as his full-time self-employment.
